Botanical name: Campanula staintonii    Family: Campanulaceae (Bell flower family)

Purple-Bud Bellflower is a clustered herb, woody at the base. Stems are many, 20-30 cm long, sparsely hairy, white. Leaves are stalkless or shortly stalked, 2-3 cm long, 4-6 mm broad, ovate-lanceshaped; tip pointed, margin sawtoothed to rounded toothed, rarely entire; upper surface sub-hairless, lower dense or sparsely hairy. Flowers are bell-shaped, 1.5-2 cm long, hairless, white with brown lines. Style not protruding out. Sepal-cup is about 1 cm long, triangular to lanceshaped, with rigid hairs, pointed; appendage about 2 mm long pointed. Flower-stalks are up to 1.5 cm long. Purple-Bud Bellflower is found in Pakistan and probably Jammu & Kashmir. Flowering: April-May.
